๐ TORAH READING – Devariym (Deuteronomy) 32:1–27
- Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
- My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
- Because I will publish the name of Yahuah: ascribe ye greatness unto our Elohiym.
- He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: an El of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
- They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.
- Do ye thus requite Yahuah, O foolish people and unwise? is not he your Father that has bought you? has he not made you, and established you?
- Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.
- When El-Elyon divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of A'dam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Yashar'el.
- For Yahuah's portion is his people; Ya'aqov is the lot of his inheritance.
- He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
- As an eagle stirs up her nest, flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, bears them on her wings:
- So Yahuah alone did lead him, and there was no strange el with him.
- He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
- Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and you did drink the pure blood of the grape.
- But Yasharun waxed fat, and kicked: you are waxen fat, you are grown thick, you are covered with fatness; then he forsook Eloah which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his yeshu`ah.
- They provoked him to jealousy with strange elohiym, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
- They sacrificed unto devils, not to Eloah; to elohiym whom they knew not, to new elohiym that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
- Of the Rock that begat you you are unmindful, and have forgotten El that formed you.
- And when Yahuah saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
- And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no belief.
- They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not El; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
- For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn unto the lowest She'ol, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
- I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
- They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
- The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
- I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
- Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and Yahuah has not done all this.
๐ PROPHETS READING – Yesha'yahu (Isaiah) 30:8–18
- Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a cepher, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever:
- That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the Torah of Yahuah:
- Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
- Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Yashar'el to cease from before us.
- Wherefore thus says the Holy One of Yashar'el, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
- Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.
- And he shall break it as the breaking of the potter's vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
- For thus says Adonai Yahuah, the Holy One of Yashar'el; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
- But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
- One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on a hill.
- And therefore will Yahuah wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Yahuah is an Elohai of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
๐ PSALM – Tehilliym (Psalm) 78:32–39
- For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
- Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
- When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after El.
- And they remembered that Elohiym was their rock, and El-Elyon their redeemer.
- Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.
- For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.
- But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
- For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and comes not again.
๐ BRIT CHADASHAH – Romaiym (Romans) 10:16–21
- But they have not all obeyed the Besorah. For Yesha'yahu says, Yahuah, who has believed our report?
- So then belief comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Elohiym.
- But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
- But I say, Did not Yashar'el know? First Mosheh says, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
- But Yesha'yahu is very bold, and says, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
- But to Yashar'el he says, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
๐ SUPPORTIVE READING – Sefer Ha'Yashar (Book of Jasher) 90:28–36
- And Mosheh spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Yahusha the son of Nun.
- And Mosheh ended speaking all these words to Yashar'el.
- And Mosheh, the servant of Yahuah, died in the land of Mo'av by the mouth of Yahuah, in the fortieth year since the children of Yashar'el were come out from the land of Mitsrayim.
- And the children of Yashar'el wept for Mosheh in the plains of Mo'av thirty days.
- And the days of weeping and mourning for Mosheh were ended.
- And Yahusha the son of Nun was filled with the ruach of wisdom, for Mosheh had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Yashar'el hearkened unto him, and did as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
- And there arose not a prophet since in Yashar'el like unto Mosheh, whom Yahuah knew face to face.
- In all the signs and the wonders, which Yahuah sent him to do in the land of Mitsrayim to Phar`oh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
- And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Mosheh showed in the sight of all Yashar'el.
✨ THEME FOR TODAY
Yahuah is the Rock and His work is perfect. Though His people turn aside, He remains faithful and merciful, calling us back to repentance. The nations may rise, but His covenant endures, and His mercy remembers that we are but flesh.
๐ CLOSING PRAYER AND REFLECTION
O Yahuah Elohaynu, You are our Rock and Redeemer. Forgive us for the times we have turned aside, and strengthen us to walk in Your ways with steadfast hearts. Let our mouths speak truth, and let our lives reflect faithfulness to Your covenant. We ask for Your mercy as we prepare our hearts in this set-apart season. Restore us, redeem us, and keep us near to You always. In the name of Yahusha Ha'Mashiach, Amein.
